Girl with a Pearl Earring


Each year, there is a Self Portrait Show at Ainsley's school.  One of the features of the show is a second painting that every student in the class paints.  This year the inspiration was Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring.

Van Gogh's Church of Auvers-sur-Oise

Ainsley received a Van Gogh Activity Pack for her 6th birthday. One of the activities was to practice brush strokes on this outline of The Church of Auvers-Sur-Oise.

Mom helped with this one as well.

Blue Bonnet Watercolor

In Texas, there are Blue Bonnets lining the highways in March and April. Ainsley is constantly admiring their beauty and painted a picture at school this week.

Two Silly Pumpkins


We're not really sure what prompted a rendition of pumpkins in December, but today Ainsley created this piece she calls Two Silly Pumpkins.

Rising Stars Art


Ainsley is learning to play the violin at school. Her first school concert was called Rising Stars.

Each student created custom artwork for the program. This was Ainsley's creation.

If you're interested, the program consisted of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Hot Cross Buns, and the Can-Can.

An Ainsley Reproduction

A few weeks ago, the family was drawing at the kitchen table. Daddy drew some mountains, a road, and a stop sign.

Yesterday, Ainsley came home with her version of the drawing by Daddy.

Her super hero was Power Girl. Her super power, giving flowers their color.
